ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Education is a life-long process that begins at home, is fostered at school, and continues throughout life. Instructional practices incorporate learning activities that recognize the different learning styles and afford students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding through a variety of assessments.

A strong moral, structured, and safe environment promotes self-discipline and provides a positive learning atmosphere.

A standard of high expectation, a disciplined environment, and quality programs in the academic disciplines and fine arts are provided to enhance student performance. From 1st grade through 5th grade, SJB elementary students have many opportunities for learning, exploration, and living out their faith.  SJB's academic program anchored in STREAM, (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math), exposes students to many skills that are highly valuable.

Our science curriculum has been enhanced and is in line with National Science Standards.  Our middle school Science Olympiad team is the reigning state champs for the past 9 years. As we prepare these future scientists, there are opportunities to participate in Robotics in the 5th grade which is a bridge to Science Olympiad. Our Robotics team previously placed 1st in the Grand Champion Regional Autonomous Robotics Circuit. In addition, SJB was thePilot school for the National Integrated Cyber Education Research Center’s (NICERC) STEM EDA program. Our newly dedicated Jo Cazes Library and Technology Center boasts 4100 sqft of space dedicated to reading, research, and technology. iPads, SMART Board, and Chromebook technology is present in every classroom.  At the core of our program is our rich and vibrant Catholic faith with daily religion education, weekly Mass, and daily prayer.
